8 of the most important new features coming in the iOS 14.5 update for iPhone phones

Apple began launching the first beta version of the update (iOS 14.5) and (iPadOS 14.5) for developers on February 1, which includes some new features, and Apple focuses on enhancing personal privacy, which prompted companies such as Facebook to launch a Fierce attack on Apple.

There are many new features coming in (iOS 14.5) update, we know a few of them yet, but it is possible that the final version of the update will include more, and there may also be bug fixes and security improvements.

8 of the most important new features coming in the iOS 14.5 update for iPhone phones

  • Firstly; What is the release date of the iOS 14.5 update?

Apple never announces the launch date for a new update from the iOS system, but it is expected that Apple will release the final version of the update (iOS 14.5) later this month or at the beginning of March, as it is now available as a beta version for developers, and this means that You must have an Apple Developer account to test it, and it may contain some bugs as Apple is still working on it before releasing its final release.

  • Secondly; The most important new features coming in the iOS 14.5 update:

1- Unlock an iPhone using Apple Watch:

Apple is currently testing a new feature in the iPhone phones that allows you to easily unlock your phone when you wear a face mask. The new feature will require the use of the (Apple Smart Watch) Apple Watch. Obviously, this watch should be running WatchOS 7.4.

The new feature is called (Unlocking with Apple Watch) Unlock with Apple Watch, and you can activate it through Settings, and this means that you do not have to take off the face mask or enter a passcode to unlock the iPhone when this feature is enabled.

2- Set a default music player of your choice:

Apple Music is the default music player in Apple devices, but finally, Apple allows you to set a default music player of your choice, meaning that you can now choose Spotify as the default music player in iOS 14.5.

So after installing the (iOS 14.5) update on your phone, the first time you ask Siri to play music, all the music streaming services that you have installed on your phone will be listed, and all you need is to choose which service you want to set as the default music player.

3- Ability to AirPlay Fitness Plus:

IOS 14.5 and WatchOS 7.4 will allow Apple Fitness Plus users to broadcast their workouts directly to TVs and AirPlay 2 compatible devices.

This feature allows you to view your workouts on a larger screen, but unfortunately; (Apple Watch) metrics cannot be shown on TV when streaming exercise from iPhone or iPad using AirPlay, Activity loops, remaining workout time and calories will not appear either, and instead, you need to view them on the connected iPhone or iPad.

4- Application tracking transparency:

The update (iOS 14.5) includes some privacy changes, as we are expected to see a new privacy notifications feature that requires the app developer to request user permission once before the app tracks its activities across other companies' apps and websites. This is based on a change Apple made in an update (iOS 14.3) that lets you know the data that apps collect before installing the app on your device.

5- Support for next-generation game controllers:

In an update (iOS 14.5), Apple added support for PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, so you can easily play games on your phone or tablet. It is also possible that Apple TV will support the new consoles with the tvOS 14.5 updates.

6- Dual SIM support for 5G networks globally:

The (Dual-SIM) feature in (iPhone 12‌) phones allows the use of two lines of service on the same phone, which is a useful feature for travel or keeping separate numbers for work and home. But before the update (iOS 14.5), (Dual-SIM) mode was limited to 4G networks LTE in all countries except China only.

But now it will allow Dual-SIM users to get 5G speeds on both lines, an important feature especially with the proliferation of 5G networks today.

7- Add the family sharing feature in Apple Card:

The code in an update (iOS 14.5) indicates that Apple will add a new feature that allows multiple people to use the same Apple Card account, which will allow family members to share one card.

The main (Apple Card‌) account holder will be able to invite family members to use the account, with Family Spends available for viewing in the Wallet app. Account-holders will be able to set spending limits so that all family members - including children - can use the card.

8- Change in design in some Apple applications:

In iOS 14.5, you will also find some design changes in podcast apps, news, and reminders, as Apple made some design changes in the Podcasts app. Podcast files are now included in (Shows) prominently with episode descriptions. It's easy to access the Resume button. The Search tab also allows you to browse the different categories to easily find what you are looking for.

The Reminders app also includes a new option to sort the lists in the reminders by the due date, creation date, priority, or title, in addition to an option to print a reminder list, a feature that users have wanted in the Reminders app for a while.

The News app also includes a new search tab, and the (News +) section has been redesigned with the (For You) feature, and the new design makes it easier for you to access the Browse tab.
