Carragher: Haaland is now presenting what Mohamed Salah has achieved in his first season with Liverpool
Jimmy Carragher, the former Liverpool star, believes that Mohamed Salah was performing in his first season with the Reds, as Erling Haaland is doing with Manchester City at the present time.
Mohamed Salah starred more than wonderfully with Liverpool, in the first season when he moved to Anfield from Rome in the summer of 2017.
In the 2017/18 season, Mohamed Salah scored 44 goals in various competitions, including 32 in the English Premier League, to be the player with the most goals in one season in the tournament.
Mohamed Salah suffers from a lack of goals, in the English Premier League, in particular, this season, as he scored only two goals.
While Erling Haaland has scored 15 goals so far, in the Premier League, where he tops the list of scorers.
Liverpool will meet Manchester City, next Sunday, in the eleventh round of the tournament at "Anfield" stadium.
- And Carragher said in statements published by "Sky Sports" global network: "I do not have a problem with Mohamed Salah now, a lot of people are looking at his actual position, so is he in enough scoring positions?"
"Well, I don't think Klopp has changed his role, he hasn't found himself in equally dangerous positions."
- He continued: “People are questioning Salah, but he set his standards. While we are talking about Haaland this season, that was Salah in his first season. We must not forget that he scored 25 to 30 goals every season and I think he will come close to that again.”
- And he added: "But it is difficult for any player to play at his best when the team does not play well and win, this is a big problem."
He concluded: "Individuals need to improve for Liverpool, but as a group, they need to improve, and then the individual performance will approach the last few years."
