Sadio Mane: What happened in the Zambia friendly is unfortunate. The people of Senegal deserve better
Liverpool winger Sadio Mane expressed his dissatisfaction with the power outage during his country's friendly match against Zambia.
Senegal faced Zambia, the day before yesterday, Saturday, at the "Lat Dior Ho" stadium in the Senegalese city of Thies, and won by three goals against a goal, in a match that witnessed the brilliance of Sadio Mane, if he scored a goal and made another.
But the match witnessed a break between the two halves of more than 35 minutes, and not 15 minutes, as is usual in the break between the two halves in football matches, and the reason was the power outage in the match stadium.
"What happened is unfortunate, the Senegalese people deserve better," Mane said angrily in comments published by the "Liverpool Eco" newspaper.
"For top-class players, it's difficult for them to wait 30-35 minutes and then play again," he added.
He ended his statements by saying: "What happened is not befitting a football country like Senegal, I think they need to do a better job, and the condition of the stadium was disastrous."
