Officially, Liverpool withdraw from the European Super League
Liverpool announced, in an official statement, its withdrawal from the new European Super League championship, after a state of the controversy caused by that new tournament.
- Six English clubs announced their agreement, along with 6 other European teams, to participate in the new European Super League.
- This caused anger and intense controversy in world football circles.
- Manchester City withdrew as a result of that tournament yesterday evening.
- A little while ago, Liverpool issued an official statement announcing its withdrawal from the tournament, saying: "We can confirm that our participation in the proposed plans to form the European Premier League has ceased."
- He added, "In recent days, the club has received offers from various key stakeholders, internally and externally, and we would like to thank them for their valuable contributions."
