Real Madrid won the 2018 UEFA Champions League after beating Liverpool 3/1 in the final of the tournament, in the match that saw the team's star, Mohamed Salah, exit after being injured in the shoulder by Sergio Ramos' interference.

Adrian denied that Mohamed Salah thinks of this season's match as revenge, and so is Liverpool entirely.

  • "We did not have much time to think about Real Madrid, after the international break, we faced Arsenal and now we are preparing for Real Madrid," Adrian said in statements to the Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo.

  • He added: "We did not talk about that confrontation in 2018 and the loss that we suffered, and there is no dispute that it is not the best memory we can remember in Liverpool."

  • He stressed: "A lot has happened since that time, and we have not faced them again, but I do not think that this will affect Mohamed Salah in any way, I do not think that he is thinking of revenge, but he wants to help the team to qualify for the semi-finals."
He continued: "In football, you can face the same team on many occasions, for us it is an opportunity to show that Liverpool is here, and there is no room to talk about that bad memory. Liverpool has changed a lot since then, and so has Real Madrid."

Commenting on the future of his coach Juergen Klopp: "I do not think that the rumors of his departure are correct. He is happy here after all the good achievements and changes he has managed to make at the club since his arrival."

He concluded: "After the recent bad results, no one doubts the continuation of Jurgen Klopp, he still has several years left on his contract, and he wants to fulfill them."
