Klopp: We will fight for the European League if we do not qualify for the European Champions
Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp admitted that they could not afford to waste more points in the upcoming matches if they wanted to end the current season of the Premier League in the top four.
Liverpool suffers from bad results this season, as it is currently ranked fourth with 46 points, after playing 29 games.
When asked whether this seems like a small season, given the importance of the remaining matches, Klopp replied in statements to the global "Sky Sports" network: "Yes, it should be like this."
- He added: "There is a lot to go to. We are not in the best position to fight to qualify for the Champions League, but we will obviously fight for that. If not like this, then we will fight for the other European centers (European League)."
- He continued: "It is our job and this is what we want. We want to be as successful as possible. At the beginning of the season we had different goals, which is normal, but now we are here in our current reality, and the situation is not bad, so we will try to get something out of this season."
- And he added: "There are other teams in better positions, so we have to make sure that we can pursue them, but whether or not that is possible will be determined in the upcoming matches, such as on Saturday against Arsenal, we do not have many points to miss anymore."
- He concluded: "It seems like a difficult stage, when you are in the position that we are in, you do not have much to lose, so let's go and see what happens."
