Klopp: I'm going to talk to Curtis Jones about his expulsion from the England national team
Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp spoke about the red card that Curtis Jones got during his participation with the England youth team during the international break last month.
Curtis Jones was with the England youth team at the European Under-21 Championship.
England bid farewell to the tournament, despite its victory over Croatia, with two goals to one, in the final round of the group stage.
England's exit from the tournament came due to the goal difference with Croatia.
After the match, Curtis Jones got into a fight with the Croatian players during their celebration of qualifying for the next round of the tournament, to get a red card.
"Of course, I'll talk to Curtis," Klopp said. "You don't want to see things like this on the pitch."
- He added in statements published by the English newspaper "Metro": "We know what the moment of losing the match means, and it is clear that this means a lot to the boys, and it means a lot, especially to Jones."
- He continued: "Jones did a really good game, he was probably the best player."
- He continued: "If the opponent did not do anything, I am sure that Jones did not show such a reaction, or provide some words or signals or anything else, but he still did not act properly at that moment, he knows that."
- And he continued, "If you asked Jones if he would do it again, he would say no to you, but he did, but that's it, as far as I know, it wasn't that bad."
- He concluded, "It is okay, I will talk to him. The only thing you do about the mistakes you make in life is to learn from them and he will do so."
