Huawei plans to launch 6G in 2030

The world is just starting to get used to 5G networks and 5G phones, but Huawei is thinking about the future with plans to roll out 6G networks, which are 50 times faster than 5G.

Huawei plans to launch 6G in 2030

As reported by CGTN, Huawei Chairman Xu Zhijun has alternately used the company's global analysts conference in Shenzhen to announce its intention to launch 6G equipment and subsequent networks in 2030.

  • Chijun said: It is assumed that the sixth-generation networks will be introduced to the market towards the year 2030, and Huawei intends to issue a research paper on 6G soon to explain to the industry what it is.

  • Telecom has always been one of Huawei's strengths, and its 5G technology greatly outperforms its competitors, and the company has also taken the lead in research and development with regard to sixth-generation networks.

  • Cui Baojue, vice dean of the School of Information at Tsinghua University, once predicted that the speed of sixth-generation networks could reach 1000 gigabits per second, with a response time of fewer than 100 microseconds (0.1 millimeters per second).

  • The speed of the sixth-generation networks is 50 times the speed of the fifth-generation networks, and the response time of the sixth-generation networks is one-tenth of the response time of the fifth-generation networks.

6G significantly outperforms 5G in terms of the peak rate, delay, traffic density, connection and travel density, spectrum efficiency, and positioning capabilities.

In theory, 5G handles the 100 GHz band for data transmission, but for 6G networks, scientists are looking at the terahertz band.

However, the superior network speed is only a by-product of 6G networks.

  • Experts say: The sixth-generation networks lead to a fully connected world of wireless and satellite communication integration, which can achieve seamless global coverage through the integration of satellite communications.

  • In addition, 6G also overcomes the current weakness of 5G networks in problematic communication under high-speed traffic.

The supported speed exceeds 1,000 kilometers per hour, and its benefits are not only limited to high-speed rail, but air travel is more compatible with 6G.

In the first three quarters of 2020, Huawei topped the global 5G telecommunications equipment market, reaching 32.8 percent of the global total, according to marketing research firm Dell’Oro.
