Genesis broke the record with 3281 drones

Hyundai's luxury car brand Genesis caused a sensation in Shanghai on March 29, as the evening sky lit up with thousands of drones in a display to celebrate the brand's official entry into the Chinese market.

Genesis broke the record with 3281 drones

The brand used 3,281 drones to create its logo over the Shanghai skyline, and Genesis set a Guinness record for the largest number of unmanned airborne aerial vehicles at a time, according to a press release from the brand.

The drone display provided a graphic narration of the Genesis story in the Chinese market, entitled Genesis, as well as some additional formations of the drone.

The drones have redesigned the G80 and GV80, the brand's most popular models it just unveiled for its new Chinese market.

The Genesis brand number beats the previous record held by Damodar Intelligent Control Technology, which used 3,051 drones at the September 20 show.

Intel set a record for 1,218 Shooting Star drones to create the Olympic rings over Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The company, known for its drone offerings, also set another record with 2,066 drones flying in July 2018.

Drones have become the preferred tool for people and companies wanting to attract attention.

Such displays typically rely on software to design a sequence of steps and movements that tells drones to form specific shapes while coordinating a squadron to avoid collisions.
