Alienware announces its latest flagship gaming laptop, the Alienware M15 R5 in 15-inch format.

Shipping starts on April 20 in the United States, with a starting price of $ 2,230.

The company says it is adding AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series processors, including up to the Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and Nvidia's RTX 3070 graphics chip.

  • Dell says: This is the first laptop to feature an AMD processor from the Alienware brand since 2007.

  • The computer comes in a basic configuration that includes the Ryzen 7 5800H processor and the Nvidia RTX 3060, and you can upgrade to the Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and the Nvidia RTX 3070.

  • The Nvidia RTX 3060 and Nvidia RTX 3070 each have a total graphic power level of 115 watts with 10 watts of additional boost available for up to 125 watts of maximum graphics power.
And when it comes to dimensions, the Alienware M15 R5 is thicker and heavier than the previous generation Alienware M15 R4.

The computer with basic specifications weighs between 2.4 kg and 2.6 kg, depending on the internal components.

The Alienware M15 R5 is 19.25 mm thick at the front, 22.85 mm near the hinge, and the device is shipped with an 86-watt battery.

The R5 can be configured with several options in terms of screen, including an FHD screen with a response time of 3 milliseconds with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, a 1080p screen with a brightness of 300 nits, a refresh rate of 360 Hz, and a response time of 1 millisecond, and a QHD screen with a brightness of 400 nits with 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, plus G-Sync, provide a smoother experience even when the frame rate is low.

And if you want to use a separate screen, the laptop's HDMI 2.1 port means it can display up to 120 frames per second in 4K if the external display supports it.

This laptop also features a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, a headphone port, and no Thunderbolt port.

Dell says: This Alienware laptop features 3200MHz DDR4 memory and is user-configurable with two SO-DIMM slots, and there are two M.2 slots inside so you can upgrade your storage after purchase.
