The Englishman Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool and Tottenham player, believes that the Reds duo, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane, will not pressure the Reds' management to leave "Anfield" in the upcoming summer transfer window if qualifying for the Champions League competition in the next season fails.
Liverpool ranks sixth in the Premier League ladder with 52 points, 3 points behind the fourth-placed (qualified for the Champions League), which is occupied by West Ham United, who has 55 points.
"I think that the competition for fourth place in the Premier League this season will continue until the end," Murphy said in remarks on British Radio "talksport".
- "I don't think Liverpool is able to finish the season between the Big Four, but I also don't think it's a huge thing in terms of attracting new players to the Reds," he added.
- He explained: "Because many people know that in football and in one season this can happen. The season was very unique in terms of injuries and what happened to Liverpool."
- And he continued: "I do not think that the players in the team, such as Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, will leave Liverpool, because they will not be in the Champions League for one season only."
He concluded his remarks, saying: "This does not mean that neither of them will leave if an opportunity arises. Salah hinted that he might want to go to Spain, but I do not think that it depends on whether they are in the Champions League or not."
