Liverpool is preparing to dispense with its striker and head to Dembele from Barcelona
Press reports revealed that the English club Liverpool is ready to contract with Barcelona's wing, Ousmane Dembele, to be a substitute for one of its stars in the attack.
Doubts about the future of the Liverpool pair, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane, are constantly circulating, and speculation is increasing about the possibility of one of them leaving in the summer market.
According to the British newspaper "Mirror", citing Spanish press reports, Liverpool wants to sign Dembele as a replacement for Sadio Mane.
Mane has struggled to appear at his level this season and has scored only five times since 2021, the Senegalese international is now 29 and few clubs will be willing to pay him big bucks in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool is reportedly considering making money from Mane at the end of the season but will need to replace him with a qualified striker capable of making an impact in attack.
According to the report, Dembele is the best fit for Liverpool. The French international player has only one year left of his contract with Barcelona and has not yet renewed it, despite a new offer of renewal.
The new contract appears to be the same as Dembley's current one, which means Liverpool may lure the former Dortmund star to Anfield by promising extra money.
Barcelona, which has huge debts and is linked to Erling Haaland, may also be interested in selling Dembele this summer to ensure he gets adequate income from the deal.
Dembele is still only 23 years old and seems to be a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool system.
