Shawky Gharib reveals the steps to summon Mohamed Salah to the Egyptian national team in the Tokyo Olympics
Shawky Gharib, the coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, confirmed that he had not yet contacted the English Liverpool player, Mohamed Salah, in order to join the national team in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
"We have the right to include 3 senior players in the Olympics, we follow the lists by preparing a preliminary list and sending it to the Olympic Committee, and there will be visas for these players," Shawky Gharib said in televised statements on the "On Time Sports" satellite.
He added: "The initial list is headed by Mohamed Salah and Mohamed El-Shennawi, not only that, but there are other goalkeepers. We can only determine the final list on 6-30."
He continued:
"We will announce the final list for the Olympic team next 6-30, and it will be made up of 18 players. We will not determine the big trio until at the end, and the final selection will be according to the positions we will need in the tournament."
And he continued: "When we have a player the size of Salah, one of the best players in the world, a great value, he must be at the top of the list. We will start the procedures with him after next March, by addressing Liverpool in an official capacity, and presenting all matters to Mohamed Salah."
Shawky talked about the Egyptian Olympic team players, saying: "The performance and participation rate of my players has exceeded 90%."
And he continued: "In all centers, all players participate continuously except for the central defender. In every center I have at least two or three members and there is a competition between them. Ahmed Ramadan Beckham has few participations, and Muhammad Abdul Salam and Al-Jazzar, only Osama Jalal participates."
And he went on: "I excluded Omar Radwan from the Brazil camp and talked to him that he did not participate at all, he should have been among the first in the list, after that he moved from El Gouna to Aswan and began to participate positively, and there was a competition between him and Mohamed Sobhi, Mahmoud Gad, Omar Salah and Mustafa Schubert. And other guards. "
He continued: "There are big names that might not be with us in Tokyo due to the large number of players."
And he continued:
"Ramadan Sobhi is doing very well, his move to Pyramids caused him some imbalance because of the shape he used to get used to, and when you move from one club to another there are differences, he skipped this stage and satisfied with his performance."
He concluded: "Very happy that Mostafa Mohamed joined the ranks of Galatasaray, because it is a club competing for the championship as it was in Egypt with Zamalek. If he had moved to Saint-Etienne, France, his goals would have changed."
He concluded, "I think that Mustafa Mohamed will play in the English Premier League ... the Premier League is suitable for him."
