Sevilla player: We missed the victory against Barcelona by missing the penalty kick
According to Joan Jordan, the Seville player, the loss of his team to the semi-finals of the King's Cup was due to the penalty kick that his colleague Ocampos missed.
And Sevilla lost a three-return match to Barcelona, after the Andalusian team won the first leg with a clean double, to bid farewell to the King's Cup.
Lucas Ocampos, returning from injury, missed a penalty kick in the 73rd minute and the result was 1/0 for Barcelona.
In statements carried by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Jordan said:
"If we had scored the penalty, we could have been in the final, but it didn't happen."
He added: "The dismissal of Fernando had a great impact. It is difficult to play against Barcelona with 10 players. We were aiming to win this tournament, but we cannot be there now."
He concluded:
"We feel a lot of pain because of the loss from Barcelona. They wanted to win more."
