Mane: Winning the Premier League is "complicated" and we will not give up in order to qualify for the Champions League
Liverpool striker Sadio Mane confirmed that his team's goal now is to achieve a qualifying position for the Champions League, after the task of winning the English Premier League became difficult.
Liverpool, the English Premier League champions, are ranked eighth in the standings, before their match tomorrow against Wolverhampton at the latter's stadium.
"In our minds, we always see that we will not give up, we can never give up," Mane said in statements to the English "Liverpool Echo" website.
He added: "Our goal at the beginning was to win the league, and in light of the decline in results, Manchester City used to win every match. Winning the league is very complicated now, so we will try with all we have to achieve a qualified position for champions."
And he continued: "As a professional football player, it is not easy to cope with bad performance and you are used to winning every match as it happened last year."
He continued: "Sometimes, it was difficult, but not as it is now, but despite this, we have the experience and we know how to deal with these situations well."
He stressed: "Our goal now is to qualify for the Champions League, it will not be easy, because we will face the best teams, as is the case in Europe, we are seeking to win the title, but it will be very difficult."
He concluded: "You always have some kind of responsibility on your shoulders, and you have to always ask yourself, Did you do what you ought to do for your team?"
