Campbell responds to Fowler: Liverpool will not be able to replace Mohamed Salah even if he contracts with Mbappe
Kevin Campbell, the former Arsenal and Everton striker, says he should think twice about Liverpool before selling Mohamed Salah this summer.
Campbell spoke exclusively to "Football Insider", and indicated that even Kylian Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, would struggle to replace Salah in Liverpool.
Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler, had previously told the Mirror newspaper that the club should consider selling Salah this summer (see his statements).
Salah has scored 25 goals and made 4 assists in 39 games this season, and he is the Premier League's top scorer.
Campbell was asked if selling the winger was worth the risk from Liverpool, and he replied: "Who would you contract with if you sell Salah?"
He added: "It is very easy to say, let's sell Salah, that he is at the top of the scorers' list again. He was unbelievable. Who comes to replace him and score his goals?"
He continued: Who can run like him ?, These are a few types of players, even if Liverpool do their best to sign Mbappe, there is no guarantee that he will replace Salah.
And Abizaid Campbell: "Werner was scoring goals for fun in Germany, and look at him now, it is not close to his scoring level."
He stressed: "You have to tread carefully, if you sell Salah and do not exchange him for someone who scores his number of goals, then Liverpool will not be the same team."
