Konate passes the medical checks in preparation for the transfer to Liverpool
According to French press reports, German defender Ibrahima Konate has passed a number of medical checks, in preparation for his transfer to Liverpool, England, next summer.
Konate, 21, is the main goal for Liverpool to consolidate his defense next summer, after the suffering that the Reds have suffered this season.
Liverpool suffered due to Van Dijk and Gomis injury this season, as well as Joel Matip, in addition to the departure of Dejan Lovren, which he does not want the team to suffer again.
Radio Monte Carlo, the French, reported that Konate had passed some medical checks in Germany, in preparation for his move to Liverpool next summer.
Reports indicated that Liverpool is ready to activate the penalty clause in the player's contract, amounting to 34 million pounds, and negotiations with Konate are at an advanced stage.
And French radio stressed that the final details are about to be decided, and the Frenchman will arrive at Anfield Road after the end of the season to officially sign for Liverpool.
A graduate of the French Sochaux Academy, he has two years remaining in his contract with Leipzig and is currently participating in the European U-21 Championship with France.
In the meantime, Leipzig has not given up on sticking to the player and keeping him next season, and Marcus Crouch, the sporting director, confirmed that his departure is not an option for them.
