Johnson pledges massive funding to host the 2030 World Cup in Britain
The Football Association issued a joint statement with a number of other federations, to welcome the British government's pledge of massive funding to host the 2030 World Cup events.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson pledged to provide 2.8 million pounds to host the World Cup events.
England hopes to host the World Cup for the first time since 1966.
The FA, in a joint statement with the Welsh Union, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Confederation, said it welcomed the government's aforementioned support.
"We are pleased that the UK government has committed to an anticipated bid by five confederations to host the 2030 World Cup," the statement read.
He added, "We will continue the study to evaluate the offer before the 2022 World Cup begins, as the organization of the World Cup will provide a wonderful opportunity to provide tangible benefits to our countries."
