Humble One .. an electric SUV with a solar roof
Humble, a California-based electric vehicle startup, has unveiled the Humble One, its SUV concept with a sophisticated solar roof.
Competing for a position in transportation innovations, California is home to a few well-known electric vehicle makers, such as Tesla, Lucid, Fisker, and Faraday Future.
However, Humble enters the fray, bringing an all-electric SUV with it, and according to the company, the Humble One is the world's first solar-powered SUV.
Instead of a glass roof, the Humble One has more than 80 square feet of engineered photovoltaics that capture sunlight and convert it into energy, and this generates enough electrical power to increase your driving range by about 60 miles per day.
The Humble One is 198 inches long, slightly longer than the Toyota Corolla, but shorter than the Tesla Cybertruck, and at 1,815 kg it weighs 680 kg lighter.
The Humble One is designed to be as lightweight as possible, while also comfortably accommodating four people.
According to Alex Bogicevic, Humble's chief engineering officer and former Ford CEO, the car has its fans, and it has more than $ 20 million in initial orders booked.
Its reservations in the US increased 426 percent in the past month, while overall US sales of electric vehicles grew by just 12 percent.
The Humble team consists of a wide mix of physicists, engineers, and designers from automobile manufacturers, including Ferrari, Piaggio, Formula One, and Ford.
“We believe solar energy is the future of mobility, and solar electric vehicles are the next obvious step to tackling carbon neutrality in the transportation ecosystem,” said Dima Steezy, founder of the company.
Stacy said the company is focusing on developing, building, and selling electric cars with solar roofs, without mentioning the powertrain and battery pack.
Initial orders are still available, but you need to be prepared to pay at least $ 109,000, and you need to wait until early 2024 to get your car.
