How to stop website notifications and popups from appearing in the Android Chrome browser

Many news websites provide the notifications feature for the content you publish, and this is what you see when you visit a site for the first time, as you will often see a pop-up window asking you to subscribe to show you notifications. Sometimes these notifications can be useful to keep you informed of all new things, but Other times it turns out to be very annoying.

If you use the Chrome browser application in your phone to browse the web, you can disable website notifications and pop-ups to subscribe to notifications from the settings menu, and to do so, follow these steps:

Open the (Chrome) application on your phone.

On the home page, click on the three dots in the top right hand side.

From the menu that appears, press the Settings option.

Scroll down, then tap the Notifications section.

Uncheck the box next to the website whose notifications you want to disable.

Repeat these steps for all websites from which you want to unsubscribe.

If you want to completely disable the Website Notifications feature, follow these steps:

* Open the (Google Chrome) application on your phone.

* On the home page, click on the three dots in the top right hand side.

* From the menu that appears, press the Settings option.

* Scroll down, then click on the "Sites" section.

* Toggle the button next to Show Notifications to Off.

In addition, if you are looking for another browser to be your default browser in your Android phone, you can install any web browser from the Google Play Store and set it as the default browser, which gives you more options for surfing the Internet.

It is worth noting, if you are using an iPhone, the iOS 14 version will change your default browser from Safari to Google Chrome, and then when any application launches an activity for an open standard URL, the system will now direct it to open in the Google browser Chrome instead of Safari.
