Halo Fitness Tracker gets Alexa integration

Amazon announced that the Halo fitness tracker has gained integration with Alexa voice assistant, so that through this new feature, owners of the tool can ask Alexa devices about various health stats, such as sleep scores or activity points obtained during the day.

Integration is off by default, and owners need the latest firmware on Halo devices and the latest version of the iOS or Android app to enable the feature.

Halo - $ 100 - is the first fitness-focused product from Amazon and has been well received since it was announced last fall.

The companion app includes a feature of 3D scanning your body through your phone's camera and measuring your fat composition.

Although the tool has been available for purchase since mid-December, it is not available in all sizes and colors on the company's website at the moment, and there is no information about when it might return.

And Halo has a 3.7-star rating from Amazon customers, compared to the 4.6-star rating given to the Fitbit Inspire 2 for the same size and price.

Amazon notes that the integration allows Alexa's voice assistant to only provide information about health data captured by Halo, and the voice assistant will not be able to perform the analysis itself.

Also, Alexa will not store Halo data, there is an option to set a voice PIN to protect access to Halo data and a five-minute time limit can be chosen after entering the PIN to facilitate access to Halo data in subsequent requests.

Although the integration works with all Alexa-enabled devices, including smart screens, it does not contain any special improvement for those who have screens.

And if you want to see any fitness charts or graphs, you need to go to the Halo smartphone app.

Amazon says: The owners of the tool will be able to disable the integration at any time through the application if they decide that they no longer want it, and they can manage and delete their audio recordings in the privacy center of the Alexa application.
