Gerrard: Liverpool coaching? Klopp must be respected .. I hope to continue for many years
Rangers coach Stephen Gerrard revealed his position on coaching the English club Liverpool in the event of the departure of coach Juergen Klopp.
There is a lot of speculation about Klopp's future with Liverpool, in light of the poor results provided by the team this season.
Liverpool is currently eighth in the Premier League table with only 43 points, after 28 matches.
Speculation intensified after Joachim Loew announced today that he will leave Germany after the end of the Euro championship next summer
Klopp is the most prominent candidate to succeed Loew in the German national team.
Press reports indicate that Gerrard is the most prominent name on the Liverpool table to succeed Klopp, at Anfield, if the German leaves.
When asked about it, Gerrard said in statements published by the English network "Scotsman": "We should not talk about this. We have one of the best coaches leading Liverpool at the moment, and I love him."
He added: "I hope that Klopp will stay for a few more years, but I have a job here and I don't think it is useful to talk about this. As I said, I hope that Jurgen will stay at Liverpool for many years."
And he continued: "Liverpool is my team, I had a wonderful trip with him, is it a dream for me to be the coach of Liverpool one day? Yes, it is true, but not yet."
"There are a lot of managers on this planet," he concluded. "We need to respect Klopp first and foremost."
