Alcantara: We did not expect our position in the Premier League ... and I am enjoying my mission in Liverpool
Spanish international, Thiago Alcantara, midfield player of the Liverpool team, confirmed that the victory over Leipzig, Germany, with two clean goals, in the Champions League, would give his team a push to return to the right track in the Premier League.
Liverpool in the English Premier League is suffering, having suffered four defeats in the last five matches, to fall back to eighth place in the ranking with 43 points.
Alcantara said in remarks published on the official website of the club: "This victory is a positive serum in our morale. I think we deserve to celebrate and be happy with something."
He added, "From now on we have this feeling that we feel now, and with this we can win all the matches we have left."
He continued: "It was a difficult period for all of us because in our worst nightmares, we did not expect that we are now in this position in the English Premier League."
He continued: "But we try to provide the best possible performance and we try to improve in every training session. I think this performance is a positive thing for all of us."
When asked about what he would have enjoyed playing in a more advanced position on the field, he replied, "Certainly, because you are closer to the goal and your chances of creating chances and scoring increase."
He concluded his remarks, saying: "You can divide it up a little. You can be more confident and play with the attackers. We have Fabinho, who is a great player. He gives us a lot of confidence and it is great to play alongside him."
