Solskjaer after Milan's draw with Manchester United: It might be a fair result
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that the 1-1 draw with AC Milan at Old Trafford might have been a fair result.
Milan had 16 attempts on goal against six for Manchester United, two goals were canceled, and then Amad Diallo advanced to the English team, but Simon Kier's last header gave the Italian team a draw in the final minutes.
"I am very disappointed that we conceded a goal from a header that came after a corner kick," Solshire told British "BT Sports".
He added, "This goal makes it more difficult, of course, in the second leg, but in any case, matters will be settled in the second leg there."
The second leg of the 16th round of the Europa League will be in San Siro next Thursday, and Milan have a valuable goal away from home.
Solskjaer was asked about goalkeeper Henderson's blocking of Kier's header, and he replied: "I saw him [Henderson] block, but Milan's players confined us to the area and managed to play the header. We had to control in light of the number of our players in the penalty area."
He continued: "We were very slow with the acquisition, this is what we must learn and implement every week, we are playing against good teams."
The Manchester United coach concluded his remarks about the outcome of the match: "Maybe a draw is a fair result."
