Laporta aims to join the Liverpool defender to Barcelona
The new Barcelona club president, Joan Laporta, has put the name of a new player on the list of players he wants to sign in the next summer Mercato in order to support the Catalan team.
Laporta had put several names on top of the star of Liverpool and the Egyptian national team, Mohamed Salah, next to Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to Spanish news reports during the past weeks.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Diario Gol", Laporta wants to sign another star in Liverpool, the left-back Andrew Robertson, who is 27 years old.
Robertson is one of the most important pillars in the formation of Liverpool's coach, Jurgen Klopp, over recent years and Laporta sees him as the appropriate alternative to replace Jordi Alba in the future.
But there is one obstacle to that deal, according to the report, which is that Robertson's future depends on Klopp's future at Liverpool, and she stated that if the German leaves, the departure of the Scot will be possible at the end of the season.
Robertson had previously announced that he was a fan of Lionel Messi, and had admitted that he would like to play alongside him because it is a dream for him if this comes true.
It is worth noting that the player’s value in the transfer market is estimated at 75 million euros.
