Klopp: We want to win the Champions League despite our position this season
Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has confirmed that he is looking forward to winning the Champions League this season, although that seems unlikely at the moment.
Liverpool qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals yesterday evening, after winning against Leipzig with two unanswered goals, in the second leg of the 16th round.

Klopp said in statements published on the club’s official website: “We want to win this tournament, not because the only reason you play in this competition is that you want to win it, I am not ridiculous, we know so far that this is not a season in which it seems we will win the Champions League. Ultimately, but that doesn't mean we don't want to go as far as possible in the tournament and then we'll win.
He added: "Now we have to wait for the draw, it will be very difficult matches no matter what, but we do not need to think about it as much from now, not like this, from tomorrow we will think about Wolverhampton and then I do not know the date of the draw, to be honest."
And he continued: "We have to wait a little, no problem, then we will know, and we will prepare for that and then we will see how far we will go in the tournament."
Of course, we could be, I don't want to sit here right now and create headlines about our performance in the Champions League and things like that, in the Champions League we had some kind of momentum during the season, but in the Premier League. Not yet".
And he added: "But we still have enough matches to try to regain that and win football matches in the Premier League as well, and that would be good for the Champions League for sure."
