Henry: Jota can help Mohamed Salah and "struggling" Mani to shine with Liverpool
France legend and former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry believes that Diego Jota's return to play again in Liverpool matches may have a positive impact on the duo, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Jota scored the goal of Liverpool's victory yesterday, Monday, against Wolverhampton in the twenty-eighth round of the English Premier League, while Mohamed Salah suffers from the absence of goals locally in the last 5 matches and Mane in the last 7 games.
Henry clarified his point of view in statements to Sky Sports, and said: "In my opinion, Jota is able to restore Mohamed Salah and Mani to their usual level."
He continued: "In football, as a player, whether Mohamed Salah or Mane, when you see a person (like Jota) with such a level, you are pushed to do more."
He added, "At the beginning of the season, Jota was scoring goals and leading Liverpool to victory, but his injury stopped the team's development and led to some negative results."
He continued his remarks: "As a player, during my career if I don't play well, I look to the bench to find Dennis Bergkamp and Kano and realize that I better do something for my team or the coach will replace me."
He concluded: "This is what Jota will do with both Mohamed Salah and Mani. Competition between players is healthy for a team like Liverpool, whether it is in training, matches, or even on the bench."
