Banning Mohamed Salah will not be easy ... and I hope to end my career at Real Madrid
Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has expressed his happiness at being at the royal club, and he is not thinking of leaving, despite his contract coming to an end.
The 31-year-old has participated in more matches this season, due to the absence of Sergio Ramos from the team due to injury, after undergoing knee surgery last month, but he returned two weeks ago.
"When I was a child, I used to say that I hope to play for Real Madrid one day," Nacho said on the Spanish program "Transistor".
He added, "Now I've played more than 200 games. Very happy to defend this shirt. I hope I can do it for a long time and continue here."
On the renewal of his contract: "When the summer comes, I will sit with the coach and the club and we will make the best decision. It will be a dream to end my career at Real Madrid."
He pointed out: "Football is funny, last year I was outside the team, and in many cases, I came close to leaving, and now I am the main player at Real Madrid."
Nacho's statements come after Zidane's confidence in the player, who despite Ramos' return, the French coach decided to involve him and played with 3 defenders against Celta Vigo.
On facing Real Madrid and Liverpool, Nacho said: "We are talking about a very dangerous team from the offensive side. Mohamed Salah, Mane, and Firmino are very good, and stopping them will not be easy."
