Here are 5 tips to fix Mac Bluetooth connection issues:

1- Update the operating system and restart the Bluetooth connection:


  • Update the operating system on a computer to the latest version.
  • Make sure that the device you want to pair with the computer is charged via Bluetooth.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth on the device and turn it back on. You can do the same with Bluetooth on a Mac computer.
  • Unpair the device and then re-pair it again.
  • Restart your Mac computer.

2- Remove interference between devices:


In a support document published by Apple, Bluetooth issues between devices and a computer often arise if multiple interfering things are obstructing the connection, and it recommends the following actions:

  • Bring the device you want to pair with your Mac computer closer together.
  • Remove other devices such as: phones, cameras, power cables, etc. that may be on or near your desk.
  • Turn off unused USB devices.
  • Ensure that there are no physical barriers between the computer and the device.

3- Reset Bluetooth on Mac:


If you are still having trouble with Bluetooth connection, you can reset it on your Mac computer, and do so, follow these steps:

  • While pressing the Option + Shift buttons on the keyboard, press the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
  • From the list that appears to you, press the option (Reset the Bluetooth module).
  • In the pop-up window that appears, press OK to confirm the command.
  • The devices will be disconnected from the Mac computer via Bluetooth for a short period of time and then will be reconnected automatically.

4- Remove all peripheral devices:


You can remove all devices connected to the computer via Bluetooth, then reset the Bluetooth again, and re-pair the devices, and do so, follow these steps:

  • While pressing the Option + Shift buttons on the keyboard, press the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
  • From the list that appears, click on Remove all devices.
  • In the pop-up window that appears, press OK to confirm the command.
  • Reset the Bluetooth connection on the Mac computer as mentioned in the previous step.
  • Re-pair the devices with the computer again.

5- Using an external USB provider:


Sometimes the use of a direct external USB flash drive or so-called (dongles) to connect your devices to the computer provides a useful solution to avoid the intermittent Bluetooth connection between the computer and the peripheral devices, and the most common peripherals that you can connect directly to a computer using this method are third-party mice and keyboards.
