The former Chelsea striker asks Liverpool and Klopp to sign Giroud
Former Chelsea and Ireland striker Tony Cascareno has demanded from Liverpool and the coach of the first football team, Jurgen Klopp, to contract with Olivier Giroud!
Giroud's contract with Chelsea expires in June, but despite this, he is achieving good numbers as he ages and reaches his 34th year.
Giroud participated in the current season with Chelsea in all championships in 22 games, during which he scored 11 goals, and succeeded in leading the English team to victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, in the first leg of the 16th round of the Champions League.
Cascarino clarified his point of view in statements to the British network "talkSPORT", saying:
"If Giroud is an option in Liverpool, of course I will sign him because there are very few players who can play a role, Roberto Firmino, in the offensive line."
He continued:
"Yes, Jero is approaching his 35th year, but he is doing a great job with Chelsea this season."
He concluded his remarks: "I think that Gero is able to bid for another year or two on the green rectangle, reminiscent of Teddy Sheringham (former Manchester United striker)."
