Suarez: Messi and I miss each other ... and Koeman is happy with my decision to leave Barcelona
Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has admitted that he has missed Barcelona's star Lionel Messi, since the Uruguayan departure from the Catalan club last summer.
Suárez was forced to leave Barcelona due to the club's insistence on getting rid of his services, to move to Atlético de Madrid, where he is performing greatly this season.
Suarez said in statements published by "getfootballnewsfrance", according to the international magazine "France Football":
"Of course I miss Messi, regardless of the player we all know. It's Leo, my friend that I miss."
He added:
"I miss our daily conversations, not only about football, but also about other things in life. Our children were playing together and progressing well, and they miss each other."
And he continued:
"We knew that this change would come, and because of our ages, we had to prepare for it."
When asked whether he thought Barcelona or Messi miss him a lot, Suarez replied: "This is a question for Leo in fact, however Koeman did not miss me because he said he was happy with my decision to leave."
He concluded:
"Messi may miss his friend on a daily basis."
