Shaw on Manchester United and Chelsea draw: a close match ... and the video technology is "confusing"
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw described their match today with Chelsea, in the Premier League, as equivalent.
The two teams met at the summit of the twenty-sixth round at Stamford Bridge, where they tied goalless.
"It was a completely equal match. There were not many chances. We defended well, but I don't think we created many chances," said Luke Chau, in statements published by the BBC.
He added:
"We are a bit disappointed with that. The gap with Manchester City is getting wider, so we needed to win, we need to keep pushing and move forward."
He continued:
"We got a point against a very good team. They are defending well. We have to look at it this way."
The video technology refused to award a penalty for Manchester United after having a handball on Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi.
"I saw the handball, I didn't know if it was from Greenwood or Odoi. I don't know why the game was stopped at that time, if it wasn't a penalty kick, I don't think they needed to stop the title," said Shaw.
"It's confusing with the video technology, as I said, if it weren't for a penalty kick, they should have let the match continue without stopping," he concluded.
