Netflix launches a new feature to watch without the Internet
Netflix has introduced a new feature for users of the app version on Android phones called (Downloads For You) that automatically downloads recommended TV shows or movies for offline viewing based on your preferences, in order to make it easier to watch more movies And TV shows.
First: What is the Downloads for You feature, and how does it work?
The new (Downloads For You) feature is mainly based on another feature previously launched by Netflix called (Smart Downloads) Smart Downloads that deletes the downloaded TV shows that you have already watched and then automatically detects the next episode.
But the (Download For You) feature works a little differently, by automatically downloading movies that you might be interested in into your smartphone based on your preferences and viewing history, so you can watch them later offline, and after watching the show on your phone, you can delete them to free up space. Storage for downloading other content, and so on.
This feature is useful for viewing content offline when you are mobile and do not have an internet connection, or if you are in an area with no cellular coverage or strong enough bandwidth to allow you to watch online content.
According to the Netflix service, the feature will not download any content until you activate it in the settings, in addition to that, the user has the option to choose the amount of storage space that will be occupied by the content that is downloaded to his phone, which includes three options: 1, 3 or 5 GB.
Second: How to activate the feature in Netflix?
1- Open the Netflix app on your phone.
2- Click on the tab Downloads.
3- Toggle the button next to (Download For You) to On.
4- Choose how much content you want to download to your phone.
5- Click on the option (activate) Turn On.
6- Now, the service will download the content based on your viewing habits and search history automatically in your phone.
Note: Downloading content is only done when connected to a Wi-Fi network. In addition, the more space you allow, the more recommendations Netflix will download to your phone using the feature.
It is worth noting that the feature is now available to users of the Android application, with the company promising to provide this feature to users of the (iOS) mobile application soon.
