Microsoft unveils the Windows 10 update for the first half of 2021
Microsoft announced the next update to Windows 10 called version 21H1, as this is the latest version after the last update, which is 20H2, which was released last year, and the company claims that the new update provides security, remote access, quality improvements and updates for a few basic user experiences.
- Windows Hello supports multi-camera to set a default external camera when there are external and internal Windows Hello cameras.
- Windows Defender Application Guard performance improvements including improved document opening times.
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC) updates performance optimization to support remote work scenarios.
With this release of Windows 10 targeting the first half of 2021, all versions of Windows 10 of version 21H1 will receive about 18 months of service, John Keppel, Vice President of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, said in a blog post: “While people continue to rely on Windows More than ever to work, learn and have fun, we understand the importance of providing the best possible update experience to help people and organizations stay protected and productive. It's a responsibility we don't take lightly and why for the first time the H1 Feature Update version (first half of the calendar year) will be delivered in an improved way using Service technology, while continuing the pace of mid-year feature update. "
The company has also stated that customers using Windows 10, version 2004, or version 20H2 who choose to update to the new version will have a quick installation experience because the version will install like the monthly update, however, customers using Windows 10 versions earlier than 2004 ( May 2020 Update), the update will reach them just like any previous Windows 10 update.
