Microsoft introduced this feature for the first time to 50% of subscribers to Windows Beta channels last year to try it out. But it was spotted in the update that was made on the version (Microsoft 365) Microsoft 365 this week, and this step shows that the company intends to present it to all Word users next month.

Thus, the Word application is in competition with the Google Documents application, which has a similar feature called Smart Compose, available since 2018.

What is the feature and how does it work in Word?

The feature uses machine learning to provide writing suggestions based on the text written by the user, and according to Microsoft: "The new update in the Word application will help users to write more efficiently by predicting the text quickly, in a timely and accurate manner."

The feature will generate inactive text predictive words, and the user will have the option to add them to the text that he writes directly by pressing the (Tab) button, ignore them and write normally, or hide them completely by pressing the (Escape) button on the keyboard.

In addition, the new feature in the application (Word) will also adapt to the user's writing style over time by analyzing language preferences and writing habits, in addition to reducing or completely avoiding any spelling and grammatical errors in the text.

The company plans to launch the feature later in March, but at the same time it did not specify the date of its arrival in the web version or the macOS version.

It is worth noting that Microsoft is working hard to provide regular updates to its word processor application, last year it added the audio transcription feature to the Word for web application that provides an easy way to transcribe the audio automatically.

It also launched a program package (Microsoft Office) for users of iPads tablets that focus on productivity, which includes many applications, including: (Word) application, in addition to support for the feature (Split View, support for the mouse and trackpad feature supported in the version) The latest iPadOS operating system.
