Mate X2 .. Huawei foldable phone of the third generation
Huawei has officially unveiled its third-generation foldable phone called the Mate X2 at an online launch event.
The Mate X2 comes after the Mate X and the Mate Xs, a 5G phone that has a lot of similarities to the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
Huawei has updated the design, as the device is now opened from the inside instead of the outside, and Huawei claims that it has mastered the manufacture of the joint, which means that the phone includes an imperceptible gap when folded.
The larger internal screen size is 8 inches, with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 8: 7.1, while the external screen comes with a size of 6.45 inches with a resolution of 2700 x 1160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21: 9.
Both screens are OLED panels with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and the internal panel supports DCI-P3 colors, while the external panel does not support DCI-P3 colors.
In terms of materials, the steel has been trimmed in favor of a carbon fiber frame to keep the device stiff and lightweight.

The phone runs EMUI 11.0 based on Android 10, adding in a live broadcast of its launch that it will be among the first phones to be updated to HarmonyOS, starting in April.
The Mate X2 includes the Kirin 9000 chipset - compared to the 990 chip in the Mate Xs, and the company previously said: The Mate 40 will be the last phone to receive the Kirin 9000 processor due to US trade sanctions.
The new Huawei phone features 8 GB of RAM and a 4400 mAh battery, with fast charging of 55 watts.
The Leica quadruple camera array in the new phone includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle main camera with a RYYB sensor and f / 1.9 aperture, supports OIS and can record 4K video.
There is a 12-megapixel close-up camera with 3x optical zoom, f / 2.4 aperture and OIS, an 8-megapixel Periscope camera with f / 4.4 aperture with OIS and a RYYB sensor with 20x hybrid zoom and digital zoom up to 100x.
There is also a front camera outside that features a 16-megapixel lens, and the Mate X2 comes in four colors: black, white, crystal blue and crystal pink.
As expected, the foldable device comes at a high price, as the device in China - it goes on sale on February 25 - costs about $ 2,785 for the 256 GB version, and $ 2,940 for the 512 GB version.
There is currently no information on whether it will be launched in other markets, including the United States.
