Liverpool announces Henderson undergoing surgery after suffering an injury to Everton
The English club Liverpool issued an official statement a short while ago, announcing that captain Jordan Henderson, the midfield team member, had undergone surgery, due to the injury he suffered in the Merseyside derby against Everton in the Premier League.
Henderson left his team's game against Everton last Saturday, which ended in the Reds' 2-0 defeat, due to a thigh injury.
Liverpool said in his statement:
"After further evaluation with the medical team, it was decided that Henderson would undergo surgery, and it was done successfully, to treat his groin injury."
The club added:
"Henderson will start the rehabilitation program immediately, and no timeline has been set for his return."
He noted:
"However, the 30-year-old will be disqualified, in principle, until after the international hiatus in March."
The club concluded its statement, saying:
"Henderson's recovery will be closely monitored by the club's medical department, and he will be monitored during the rehabilitation period, to see when he is able to return to group training again."
We can confirm Jordan Henderson has undergone a successful operation on the injury he sustained during Saturday’s Merseyside derby with Everton.
