Blackmagic Design Announces BMPCC 6K Pro Camera

Blackmagic Design unveiled the BMPCC 6K Pro, an updated version of the BMPCC 6K cinema camera with some additional professional features.

The new model now includes a brighter HDR screen with a capacity of 1,500 nits per square meter, which is tiltable, while the screen in the previous model was installed in its place.

This should make it easier to see when shooting in daylight, while also giving you a more accurate view of HDR productions.

And at the top of the brightest screen, BMPCC 6K Pro supports optional OLED electronic viewfinder at $ 495.

It has a built-in proximity sensor to automatically switch between the screen and the electronic viewfinder, and it can rotate up and down within 70 degrees and display status information, such as frame guides.

Another major pro feature is the built-in ND filters, which allow you to reduce the amount of light entering the camera, especially in bright sunlight, without having to change shutter, ISO, or aperture settings.

You can choose from 2, 4, and 6 stops to block out light, and are designed to match the camera's colorimetry.

Meanwhile, the built-in ND filters reduce the optical and infrared wavelengths evenly so that the infrared image is not affected.

The camera now supports larger NP-F570 batteries, and if you need more time, you can get an optional $ 145 Pro Grip battery, which takes two NP-F570 batteries and lets you shoot for up to 3 hours.

Otherwise, the BMPCC 6K Pro is similar to the previous model, featuring a native dual ISO sensor with a resolution of 6144 x 3456 pixels with 13 stops of dynamic range and a maximum of 25600 ISO.

You can record in ProRes, Apple RAW, or Blackmagic RAW formats at up to 6K resolution, including most cinema formats.

And for videographers, it also includes the fine details: XLR microphone input, 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack, DC charging input, and support for CFast 2.0 and SD card formats.

BMPCC 6K Pro is now available for initial order for $ 2,495.
