This is not the first time that WhatsApp blocks or permanently deletes a user account to use modified versions of WhatsApp, and for a long time there was already official information about why the company did not allow the use of these applications.
Now it appears that there is a campaign of this type as per user posts. In its help section, WhatsApp states that GB WhatsApp and WhatsApp Plus are two options for modified versions of the service that violate the terms of service, and for this reason the company does not endorse the use of these applications, because according to WhatsApp, its security practices cannot be verified.
Unlike Telegram, which even allows third parties to develop modified versions of the app with the source code they share themselves, this hasn't happened with WhatsApp, so these modified versions were created by third parties using the app's source code. However, this was taken as a basis without permission from WhatsApp.
If you use WhatsApp Plus, GB WhatsApp, or any third-party app, the company now recommends saving your chat history and moving later to the official version of WhatsApp to avoid banning your account.
It is true that third-party applications tend to provide more customization options than are found in the official WhatsApp application, in fact, WhatsApp Plus was one of the first to allow themes to be installed in WhatsApp several years ago, and it currently has options such as editing the font, sending pictures and videos, and not losing Quality, etc ...
