Hacked emulator to run Android apps and games on your computer
NoxPlayer, an emulator to run Android applications and games on your computer, has been hacked .. Hurry to reinstall it
NoxPlayer is an emulator that many users have installed on their computers, which we have talked about in the past. Everyone who installed it on their computers should be careful, as a group of hackers gained access to this Android emulator's server infrastructure and sent malware to some users in Asia.
It was ESET, the Slovak security company, that discovered this attack. Users of NoxPlayer are advised to reinstall this Android emulator on their device in order to permanently remove this malware.
NoxPlayer is an Android emulator popular with many players. It is mainly used to run Android games on x86 computers and has been developed by BigNox in Hong Kong. According to what was mentioned, a group of hackers gained access to one of the company's official APIs (api.bignox.com) and its file hosting servers (res06.bignox.com). With this access, the hacker manipulated the URL to download the NoxPlayer update to the API server to introduce the malware to the users.
It appears that the purpose of this malware is not to obtain funds, such as stealing bank access data, but rather to be able to spy on users. The attackers were able to access BigNox's servers long ago, and what is known so far is that this attack is not targeting all users of this emulator.
According to the ESET report, hackers targeted specific devices, indicating that this is a highly targeted attack that aims to infect only a certain class of users. Although all users who use the emulator are advised to be cautious, as it is not excluded that the attack will spread to more countries.
The best way to make sure not to be attacked is to reinstall NoxPlayer from this link
