Lenovo announces IdeaPad 5G, 5 Pro and 5i Pro
The Chinese technology giant Lenovo unveiled its new IdeaPad lineup at CES 2021, along with the Lenovo Tab P11, Lavie Mini, Lavie Mini PC and Yoga 7 AIO PC.
The company has provided these new laptops with the latest eleventh-generation Intel Core processors in addition to the new AMD Ryzen 5000 chipset, as well as the new and improved voice assistant experience from Alexa.
Lenovo has three new models this year, including the IdeaPad 5G, IdeaPad 5 Pro and IdeaPad 5i Pro.
Lenovo IdeaPad 5G:
Featuring a 14-inch screen, this laptop features 5G connectivity, and Lenovo aims to provide a next-generation connection option for users who are always on the move and need a fast and stable connection at all times.
This is also one of the first laptop computers from Lenovo to use the Snapdragon 8cx 5G computing platform that also includes Adreno 680 graphics and the Snapdragon X55 Modem-RF system for communication.
The 14-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels delivers 300 nits brightness with sRGB color gamut coverage.
The laptop is available with a capacity of 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of PCIe SSD storage space.
Lenovo is also introducing the laptop itself as a 4G / LTE support model powered by the Snapdragon 8c computing platform.
Other features include the ergonomic IdeaPad keyboard, the fan-less user-facing speakers with improved design with Dolby Audio, and the dual microphone to improve performance while making video or voice calls over the Internet.
The laptop also provides a Click-to-Run feature that allows you to instantly turn on the laptop and log in with Windows Hello via an infrared (IR) camera.
The notebook weighs about 1.2 kg, and there is a 51-watt battery that can be charged quickly using Rapid Charge Express technology via USB Type-C.
IdeaPad 5 Pro و IdeaPad 5i Pro:
These laptops are available in 14- and 16-inch sizes, and while the IdeaPad 5 Pro is offered with the latest AMD processors in the Ryzen 5000 series for mobile devices, the IdeaPad 5i contains 11th generation Intel Core processors.
The new 2021 IdeaPad adopts a 16:10 aspect ratio, and other popular features include Wi-Fi 6, TÜV Rheinland Display Certification with Eye Care technology to reduce blue light.
There is also an infrared camera to log into Windows Hello, a larger trackpad, soft keys within the keyboard optimized with optional backlight, Dolby Atmos, and a resolution of up to 2.8K.
Lenovo also offers quick shortcuts to control laptop performance modes by pressing Fn + Q, in addition to a new shortcut to switch between screen refresh rates by pressing Fn + R.
The IdeaPad 5i Pro can be configured with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, along with NVIDIA MX450 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD PCIe M.2 storage.
The 14-inch model is offered with a 2.8K screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and brightness at 400 nits, while the 16-inch model comes with a 2.5K screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and brightness of 350 nits.
The 14-inch model gets a 56.5-watt battery, while the larger version has a 75-watt battery, both of which provide fast charging via Rapid Charge Express, and the 16-inch model also provides Thunderbolt 4 technology with a single cable.
The IdeaPad 5 Pro is available with AMD's new Ryzen 5000 series processors, and the 14-inch version comes with the same design and features as the Intel model, including NVIDIA MX450 GPU, 16GB RAM, and 1 TB SSD PCIe M.2 storage .
The 16-inch version is offered with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 mobile GPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of SSD PCIe M.2 storage.
