Lenovo launches Think Reality A3 augmented reality glasses

Lenovo introduced ThinkReality A3 smart augmented reality glasses at CES 2021, and similar to the ThinkReality A6 augmented reality glasses that Lenovo introduced in 2019, ThinkReality A3 is focused on providing modern digital solutions to enterprises.

Compared to the previous version, the new ThinkReality A3 appears to be smaller and lighter, and Lenovo says: These smart glasses are suitable for use like sunglasses, and can also be strengthened with improved industrial frame options for safer and more durable use.

The ThinkReality A3 is powered by the Snapdragon XR1 platform, and features stereoscopic 1080p displays that allow users to view up to 5 virtual screens.

There is an 8MP RGB camera that provides 1080p video for expert remote use cases, and the dual camera provides room scale tracking.

The smart glasses can be linked to a computer or specific Motorola smartphones via a USB-C cable, depending on the use case.

“ThinkReality A3 is a next-generation AR solution, as it is lightweight, robust and versatile,” said Jon Pershke, Lenovo Vice President of Strategies, Emerging Business and Smart Devices Group.

He added: Smart glasses are part of Lenovo's comprehensive integrated digital solution that includes an advanced augmented reality device, ThinkReality software and Motorola mobile phones, and whether working in virtual spaces or supporting remote assistance, ThinkReality A3 enhances workers' capabilities to do more wherever they are. .

The company introduces ThinkReality A3 in the standard personal computer version of virtual screens that can be connected to a laptop or mobile workstation to enable users to place multiple virtual screens and large in their field of vision.

The glasses also support Windows software tools and applications, and through these glasses, Lenovo is looking to increase the value of computers, and create more productivity, privacy and immersive experiences for industries, such as: finance and architecture, as well as for any remote and mobile worker where space and privacy are limited.

Lenovo also announced an industrial version of its ThinkReality A3 designed to improve decision-making in complex environments.

One can link this release to specific Motorola smartphones to do augmented reality-enabled tasks in complex hands-free work environments.

They can be used in scenarios ranging from factory and laboratory floors to crowded retail and hospitality spaces.

With support from the ThinkReality software platform, clients can create, publish, and manage mixed reality applications and content on a global scale, with global support.

Lenovo also offers ThinkReality-based ready-made apps that support remote assistance, advisory workflow, and 3D imaging.

Lenovo ThinkReality A3 smart augmented reality glasses are available in select markets around the world beginning in mid-2021, and are intended for enterprise customers, not retail users.
