Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, said that the number of users of the Google-owned video sharing platform has reached more than 2 billion unique users per month worldwide, meaning that in the last quarter, it has reached an estimated 200 million users.

The new figure is up about 5 percent from the previous figure of 1.8 billion users per month - recorded in the fourth quarter, and reached the platform to more than two billion viewers a month, although it suffers from scandals about inappropriate content, and harmful.

The announcement came directly after Google's parent company, Alphabet, which also owns YouTube, fell after revenue growth slowed. "The slowdown in clicks within YouTube - the main engine of advertising revenue - was partly a reason," said Alfabet's chief financial officer.

Last year, YouTube suffered a setback by withdrawing many of the giant brands from its platform because these ads appeared alongside malicious videos and faced constant pressure from advertisers to tighten regulations so as not to appear to promote offensive content.

The YouTube platform continues efforts to combat the conspiracy theory videos posted and promoted on the site, and the platform has come under heavy scrutiny, amid widespread concerns that it does not effectively control videos that contain malicious content posted on the site.
In addition to being a source of entertainment, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google-YouTube, described it as an educational hub. "Users do not just come to YouTube for entertainment, they come to find information, get to know things, and discover research," he said.

YouTube continues to enhance its presence in the living room at a very fast pace. Watching the platform on television has been more than 250 million hours a day, starting in March 2019, according to the company.

This represents a 39 percent increase in less than a year, especially as it excludes watch numbers on YouTube TV, Google's paid online service.
